Ungraded means an effect was reported without a GRADE rating; it is not a gap. No studies means the review found nothing to answer the question. The six categories are a display order, not a score.

Questions and results

Summary of findings 1: change in refractive error at 1 year

Population: children with progressive myopia (38 studies, 6525 participants in analyses) Interventions: optical and pharmacological Comparator: control (36 studies, 2846 participants). Control arms for optical interventions are either single vision spectacles or contact lenses. Placebo eyedrops were the usual comparator for pharmacological interventions Outcome: progression of myopia (difference in change in spherical equivalent refraction (SER)) at 1 year (dioptres)
