Ungraded means an effect was reported without a GRADE rating; it is not a gap. No studies means the review found nothing to answer the question. The six categories are a display order, not a score.
Questions and results
Discontinued intravenous (IV) oxytocin stimulation compared with continued IV oxytocin stimulation in the active phase for induction of labour
Population: pregnant women in latent phase of labour stimulated with oxytocin for with induction of labour. No exclusion criteria were applied in terms of parity, maternal age, ethnicity, co‐morbidity status, labour setting, gestational age, or prior caesarean delivery.
| Outcome | Effect | Evidence | Status / GRADE |
|---|---|---|---|
Caesarean delivery Discontinued intravenous (IV) oxytocin stimulation vs continued IV oxytocin stimulation | RR 0.69 [0.56, 0.86] | 9 studies · 1784 participants | Low Downgraded: risk of bias, imprecision, inconsistency, indirectness |
Caesarean delivery after active phase has begun, using "reached active phase" as the denominator Discontinued intravenous (IV) oxytocin stimulation vs continued IV oxytocin stimulation | RR 0.92 [0.65, 1.29] | 4 studies · 787 participants | Moderate Downgraded: risk of bias, imprecision, inconsistency, indirectness |
Uterine tachysystole combined with abnormal fetal heart rate Discontinued intravenous (IV) oxytocin stimulation vs continued IV oxytocin stimulation | RR 0.15 | 3 studies · 486 participants | Moderate Downgraded: risk of bias, imprecision, inconsistency, indirectness |
Chorioamnionitis Discontinued intravenous (IV) oxytocin stimulation vs continued IV oxytocin stimulation | RR 2.32 | 1 study · 252 participants | Very low Downgraded: risk of bias, imprecision, inconsistency, indirectness |
Use of analgesia and epidural during labour Discontinued intravenous (IV) oxytocin stimulation vs continued IV oxytocin stimulation | RR 1.04 | 3 studies · 556 participants | Low Downgraded: risk of bias, imprecision, inconsistency, indirectness |
